Hi dear reader 💫
I used to think that the best part of traveling was where I went.
Now I know — the best part is who I meet along the way.

The people you don’t plan for.
The ones who appear out of nowhere, change the texture of your day, and leave behind invisible fingerprints on your memory.
Not everyone becomes a lifelong friend.
Some people come into your life just once — but that moment…
it changes something inside you forever.
This post is for them — the unplanned, unspoken, unforgettable souls I met on the road.
💃 The Dancer Who Taught Me to Surrender
He was calm. Confident. Silent.
He reached out his hand on a salsa night filled with lights and heat.
I hesitated for a second. Then I let go of control… and followed.
He didn’t lead with force. He led with rhythm.
He listened to the music and to me.
For three songs, we danced as if we’d rehearsed forever —
but it was just presence. Connection. Trust.
When the song ended, we bowed, exchanged smiles… and that was it.
I don’t know his name.
But I’ll never forget how he reminded me what it feels like to be held without being owned.
☕ The Man Who Shared His Silence
In a tiny café tucked behind a market, I sat reading a book, nursing a tiny espresso.
He sat across from me — alone, kind-faced, maybe sixty-something.
We made eye contact and smiled. That’s all.
No words.
But for twenty minutes, we shared the same table, the same stillness, the same unspoken peace.
When he left, he nodded and said,
“Sometimes the best company is someone who doesn’t need to talk.”
And he was right.
🚌 The Girl on the Bus Who Changed My Perspective
We were both heading to the same retreat center — me, alone and quiet; her, full of energy and stories.
She asked me:
“What’s one thing you’re hoping to let go of?”
I hadn’t thought about it. But I answered.
And that question sat with me for the entire week.
We didn’t stay in touch. But her voice followed me.
Sometimes, the deepest questions come from strangers… when your soul is ready to hear them.
🥣 The Woman Who Fed Me Like a Daughter
I was tired, jetlagged, and overwhelmed.
She ran a small family restaurant, and when she noticed me quietly sitting alone, she brought me warm soup before I could order.
“You look like you need this more than a menu,” she smiled.
She didn’t know my story. But somehow, she did.
Her care didn’t require explanation.
She reminded me that nourishment is a language of its own.
✨ What These Encounters Taught Me
- You don’t need shared language to share meaning
- Eye contact can hold more than conversation
- You never know the impact of your presence in someone’s day
- You’re always being offered little mirrors — pay attention
- Kindness has no borders, no passport, no script
Final Reflection
Not all connections come with closure.
Not all people are meant to stay.
But every person you meet along your journey carries a little gift — a question, a reminder, a spark.
And every time I meet someone unexpected, I remember:
I’m not just traveling through places. I’m traveling through people.
And each encounter is a thread in the story of who I’m becoming.
So here’s to the unplanned meetings.
To the quiet nods, the bold invitations, the shared meals, the three-minute dances.
To the beautiful mystery of People & Encounters.
With an open heart,
Anna
